I have over 30 years of experience working with clients to identify and address the underlying problems that lead to distress and diminish well-being. My approach is supportive and non-confrontational, focusing on pathway therapy to help facilitate meaningful change as quickly as possible. Counselling and therapy can assist you in recognizing and altering unhelpful thinking and behavior, guiding you toward a healthier path forward. I hold a Master of Arts in Psychology from the University of Toronto and am a Registered Social Worker. I work with individuals, couples, and families to address mood disorders, trauma, and addiction difficulties.
I have delivered training and workshops in the community and provided consultation and clinical supervision for clinical professionals. I understand the importance of being committed to the ongoing development of clinical skills in professional practice. This commitment also extends to my work with colleagues and other professionals. I am trained in Clinical Supervision and am passionate about supporting good therapists to become great therapists. In addition to providing clinical supervision for Registered Social Workers, I offer clinical supervision for qualifying psychotherapists that meets the criteria set by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
When I am not working, I love spending time with family and friends. I especially enjoy live music, hiking, cooking, and when the weather is nice, paddle boarding and gardening.
I offer a strength-based approach and a safe, welcoming space where we can work together to develop an individualized plan that guides you on a pathway therapy toward positive change. I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to fit your unique circumstances, including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational-Enhanced Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy.
I promise to walk with you every step of your journey. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward on a pathway therapy that leads you where you want to be in your life.
I am a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I hold myself accountable to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the OCSWSSW and to legislation governing the work of social workers and psychotherapists in Ontario.
I am committed to a positive space. My services are supportive and inclusive of diverse cultures, gender identities, politics, religious beliefs, and sexual orientations.
I recognize that I live and work on the treaty lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. As a settler in this beautiful place, I am grateful for the good stewardship that First Nations, Inuit and Métis people have provided since time immemorial and I acknowledge that colonization has led to the displacement of Indigenous peoples from their ancestral lands, hindering their ability to be in good relations with the land. As a therapist, I acknowledge my responsibility to heed the calls to action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, by continuing to learn (#92), by recognizing the value of Aboriginal healing practices (#21), and by seeking to renew and restore treaty relationships based on mutual recognition, mutual respect, and shared responsibility (#45).
