Noella Taylor, MA (Psych), RSW

My Approach

With more than 30 years of clinical experience, I help adolescents, adults and couples who feel stuck in painful patterns of anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship conflict, addiction, and compulsive or unhealthy behaviours.

Many of the people I work with are high-functioning on the outside but privately struggling with shame, disconnection, emotional reactivity, compulsive sexual behaviour, substance use, or relationships that feel strained and repetitive. They may find themselves returning to the same patterns despite wanting something different.

My role is to help you understand what is driving those patterns and create meaningful change.

My approach is warm, practical, and non-judgmental. I help clients identify the underlying issues that contribute to distress, rather than only focusing on symptoms. Together, we work to recognize unhelpful ways of thinking, coping, and relating, and replace them with healthier, more effective ways of responding.

I work with:

  • Adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional dysregulation, and addiction
  • Individuals struggling with compulsive sexual behaviour, pornography use, or relationship difficulties related to intimacy and trust
  • Couples caught in recurring patterns of conflict, distance, or disconnection
  • Families navigating the impact of trauma, addiction, or mental health concerns

I hold a Master of Arts in Psychology from the University of Toronto and am a Registered Social Worker providing virtual therapy across Ontario.

In addition to my clinical work, I provide consultation, training, and clinical supervision for therapists and helping professionals. I am passionate about supporting good therapists to become great therapists and offer clinical supervision for Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychotherapists, and Qualifying Psychotherapists in accordance with the requirements of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, attending live music, hiking, cooking, paddle boarding, and gardening.

My Treatment Focus

I offer a warm, strength-based approach and a safe, supportive space where we can work together to understand what is keeping you stuck and develop a plan for meaningful change.

Because every person and relationship is different, I tailor therapy to your unique needs, goals, and circumstances. My work integrates evidence-based approaches that help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and relationship patterns.

Depending on your concerns, I may draw from:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
  • Mindfulness-Based Therapy
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Solution-Focused Therapy
  • Motivational Enhancement Therapy

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, trauma, addiction, compulsive sexual behaviour, or relationship difficulties, my goal is to help you build insight, develop practical tools, and move toward lasting change.

My Commitment

I promise to walk with you every step of your journey. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward on a pathway that leads you where you want to be in your life.

I am a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I hold myself accountable to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the OCSWSSW and to legislation governing the work of social workers and psychotherapists in Ontario.

I am committed to a positive space. My services are supportive and inclusive of diverse cultures, gender identities, politics, religious beliefs, and sexual orientations.

I recognize that I live and work on the treaty lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. As a settler in this beautiful place, I am grateful for the good stewardship that First Nations, Inuit and Métis people have provided since time immemorial and I acknowledge that colonization has led to the displacement of Indigenous peoples from their ancestral lands, hindering their ability to be in good relations with the land. As a therapist, I acknowledge my responsibility to heed the calls to action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, by continuing to learn (#92), by recognizing the value of Aboriginal healing practices (#21), and by seeking to renew and restore treaty relationships based on mutual recognition, mutual respect, and shared responsibility (#45).
